Becca Marriott began her love affair with theatre at an early age, studying acting at the Junior Guildhall.
While reading English at The University of Oxford, Becca was widely involved in drama and improvisation, directing an award winning production, as well as performing in numerous plays and directing and performing with the Oxford Imps – a training ground for comedians of the future.
Becca began her opera training in 2011, and is widely sought after both as a singer and librettist/adaptor.
In 2016 Becca co-adapted, and wrote the libretto for La bohéme at The King’s Head Theatre. In 2017, this production transferred to the West End and was nominated for an Oliver Award. In the same year she created a new production of Tosca for The King’s Head Theatre, which won the Off West End Award for Best New Opera Production.
Most recently, she created the libretto for a new version of La Traviata based on a bold new concept from up and coming young director, Helena Jackson. This production was nominated for an Off West End Award. The libretto is published by Oberon Modern Plays.
